A Season of Hope: Joining the Spring 40 Days for Life Campaign

By: [Diana Hale-Webmaster]

As we move into the spring semester, our chapter is turning its focus toward one of the most impactful pro-life mobilizations in the world. According to a recent feature in The Catholic Times, the 40 Days for Life Spring 2026 Campaign is officially underway, running from February 18 through March 29.

For those who may be new to our chapter, 40 Days for Life is an internationally coordinated effort to end abortion through three simple, yet powerful pillars: prayer and fasting, community outreach, and a peaceful, 24-hour vigil outside local abortion facilities.

Why This Campaign Matters Right Now

The article highlights that this year’s campaign is more than just a vigil; it is a “personal and ongoing invitation to accompany Christ in His suffering” and to remain anchored in hope. Shawn Carney, CEO of 40 Days for Life, notes that the demand for these vigils has skyrocketed in recent years. The impact is undeniable: to date, over 26,000 lives have been saved, 184 abortion centers have closed, and 275 workers have walked away from the industry.

Bringing the Mission to Our Virtual Campus

As a global, online student body at APUS/AMU, our “sidewalk” might look different depending on where you are stationed or living. Whether you are at a base in Texas, a home office in Virginia, or serving abroad, the 40 Days for Life mission is accessible to everyone:

  • Prayer and Fasting: You can join the global movement from anywhere. Set an alarm to pray for the unborn, for mothers in crisis, and for the workers in these facilities.
  • Find a Local Vigil: Even though we are an online chapter, we encourage you to visit the 40 Days for Life Location Map to find a vigil site in your local community.
  • A “Business” of Charity: As our chapter often says, our “business” is the common welfare and the protection of the most vulnerable. This campaign is the perfect way to put that mission into practice.

How to Get Involved

We want to see our APUS/AMU community represented at vigils across the country! If you attend a vigil, wear your SFL gear, take a photo (following all local vigil safety and privacy rules), and send it to us so we can feature your witness on our social media pages.

Let’s be the “anchors in the storm” this spring. Visit 40daysforlife.com to sign up for a prayer hour and stay tuned to our site for more updates throughout the campaign.
