Courageous Outreach

Planned Parenthood in Charlotte, NC strongly discourages contact between pro-life sidewalk counselors and their clients, fearing that if the truth about true “choice” were made available, their clients would choose life and not death for their unborn children. However, tall fences and tarps could not stand in the way of this fearless counselor reaching out to help save a life. Keep in mind that many women who come to Planned Parenthood believe that they have no other option.  This counselor, however, was able to reach out with love from a most unusual position–flat on the ground outside the fence, speaking under the tarp cover. One of the Charlotte Sidewalk Advocates for Life who appeared on the scene after the encounter had been underway for some time, reported overhearing a part of the conversation; the woman behind the fence repeatedly said “I wish, I wish” while the counselor replied “You can do this.”

Thanks to the counselor’s loving persistence, backed up by local pregnancy resources offered by the Sidewalk Advocates for Life on hand, the couple chose life that day for their unborn child.

Please know that efforts to save an unborn child are not in vain–courageous, loving outreach can change the course of the future.
